Voters
United to Preserve Flower Mound are homeowners who have joined together to
preserve our unique country atmosphere and quality of life. We do not want to see Flower Mound become
just another concrete-covered suburb. We
have successfully opposed several requests that would have allowed developers to
build many more houses than allowed by our Master Plan. We have actively supported SMARTGrowth, tree
preservation, and other environmentally sensitive
programs.
Our
goals are to:
· Prevent amendments
to the Master Plan that would increase housing density, add apartments, or
negatively impact our quality of life.
· Support Flower
Mound’s SMARTGrowth Program.
· Support quality
economic development, in the appropriate areas, which reflects our community
character and preferences.
· Support Town Council
candidates who will be responsive to residents; who will work collaboratively
with town staff, other council members, boards and committees; and who will
guide development according to the wishes of the citizens they are elected to
serve.
Financial support for Voters United comes from Flower Mound residents. We do not make financial contributions to any candidates, nor do we pay for campaign expenses for any candidates. We are pleased to make the following endorsements:

Lori
and her husband Bob have lived in Flower Mound since 1988. They have three children. She is the former Business Manager for
Manheim Auctions, the largest auction chain in the world. Bob is a former Army helicopter pilot and is
now a pilot with American Airlines.
During her three terms as Mayor, Lori has been a tireless advocate for
preserving Flower Mound’s unique country atmosphere, while also encouraging
quality economic growth. She supports
improved parks and recreation. · Initiated the SMARTGrowth Program
and the updated Master Plan · Opposed to any increases in the
property tax rate or sales tax rate · Has expedited road improvements,
which remain a top priority · Will not accept campaign
